yt-publisher is a private command-line tool with exactly one user: its author. It exists to upload videos to YouTube channels that the author owns. It has no other users, collects nothing from anyone else, and is not offered to the public.
When the author authorises the tool against one of his own Google accounts, Google issues an access token for that account. The tool uses that token to upload videos, set thumbnails, add subtitles and add videos to playlists on that account's channels. It reads the channel's own name, ID and playlist list so it can confirm it is publishing to the right place.
That is the entire scope. The tool does not read viewer data, comments, subscriber identities, watch history or any information about other people.
The access token is stored in the macOS Keychain on the author's own computer. It is never transmitted anywhere except to Google's own servers when a request is made, is never written to a file, and is not sent to any third party. Video files, titles, descriptions and artwork live on that same computer and go only to YouTube.
This website itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics and no third-party scripts, and keeps no logs of visitors.
No data is sold, shared, transferred or disclosed to anyone. There is no third party involved beyond Google itself, which receives the uploads because it operates YouTube.
yt-publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it, its author is bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Access granted to the tool can be reviewed and revoked at any time at Google security settings.
Revoking access at the link above immediately invalidates the stored token. Deleting the tool's Keychain entry removes the token from the computer. Since no data about anyone else is ever collected, there is nothing further to delete.
